This 3rd hand support system is well made and handy for lots of woodworking projects such as a brace, jack, or support for drywall, crown moldings, cabinets hand, dust barriers and so on. It can also be used for a cargo bar.
The extendable rod. The weight capacity is 154 lb (70 kg). The stem rod is made of high-density metal and the handle is cast in premium aluminum. Non-slip TPR pads and an additional pair of bigger PVC pads meet various working conditions.
The adjustable height and textured rubber face help hold the rod tight for various purposes. Long Rod expands from 49.2 to 114.2 in (125 to 290 cm); Short Rod expands from 23.6 to 45.3 in (60 to 115 cm). The handle is used for minute adjustment.
Spring-loaded pins that pop out into holes in the outer pole can lock the height. A white calibration line helps realign the pins with the holes if the rod is rotated. Pinch-prevent design protects your hand when extending the rod. 2 pairs of pads (3.8 x 2.8 in and 5.2 x 3.2 in) can be replaced as needed.
